Abstract

This thesis is a literary study about the analysis of identity crisis viewed from postcolonial perspective. Since this study focuses on the conflicts which are undergone by the main character in the novel. it will particularly highlight the main character, including drawing attention to everything and everyone that contributes a significant role to his life. It is hoped that the deep portrayal about the main character taken from such thorough observation will be got. Then, it will produce a good understanding about his identity crisis. Therefore, it will ease the way to analyze his crisis from its cause(s) until its resolution. Since this study ·will analyze the problem of identity crisis through postcolonial point of view, some relevant theories will be used to help explaining the matter. Therefore, Bhabha's and Hall's theories of postcolonial identity are considered as the most suitable theories related to the topic. Supported by intrinsic approach, those theories will be applied harmoniously in the analysis.
