Daya Hambat Liquid Chlorophyll Daun Alfalfa (Medicago Sativa) terhadap Pertumbuhan Streptococcus Sanguinis.
Skripsi thesis, UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA.
Abstract
Background. Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a disease which has not found the method of its prevention yet. One of its etiology is the role of bacteria Streptococcus sanguinis. Chlorophyll is a nature material which can possibly become alternative therapy for RAS patient because its ability to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus sanguinis. Purpose. to prove the antibacterial effect of liquid chlorophyll Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) to S. sanguinis in RAS patient. Methods. In this research the inhibition ability test of liquid chlorophyll Alfalfa from each brand product to Streptococcus sanguinis is using antibacterial test with agar difussion methode in welled Then measuring the average diameter of inhibition zone in TYC plate agar. Streptococcus sanguinis is gathered by the researcher with swab method of RAS patient, which then being identified with biochemical test using arginine, esculin, lactose, and mannitol. The suited bacteria is cultured in TYC plate agar to do the zone of inhibition test. Result. All of the inhibition zone type is irradical zone that in this zone the quantity of bacterial growth is limited than area without influence of liquid chlorophyll Alfalfa. Average diameter of inhibition zone from liquid chloropyhll Alfalfa for PT Sis 10,67 mm; PT K is 10,53 mm and PT B is 7,96 mm. Conclusion. Liquid Chlorophyll Alfalfa has inhibition ability to Streptococcus sanguinis with zone of inhibiton diameters vary from 5-10 mm and its bacteriostatic.
