Abstract

The background of this research is a CT-Scan Head of Non-Contrast in Dr. Soetomo in theory examination conducted ranging from 1 cm base -vertex. But in reality on the ground is still found workmanship CT scan head in the case of CVA that its scan area of more than 1 cm. This enables the effective dose received by patients, especially with the latest technology advances that the CT scan that can display the estimated effective dose received by patients increased. In the world of radiological safety of the patient should be kept, therefore we are interested in doing research with the title "INVESTIGATION OF EFFECTIVE DOSE ESTIMATES NON CONTRAS CT-SCAN HEAD WITH CVA WITH SLICE CT-SCAN 128 SCAN LENGTH OF CHANGES IN UNIT RADIOLOGY IGD Hospital Dr.Soetomo SURABAYA". Objective: To determine the estimated effective dose of a CT-Scan non¬contrast head CT scan at 128 slice with cases of CVA to changes in the scan length in the ER Radiology Unit Dr. Soetomo. The method we use is observational research that is by observing the radiation dose and the factors that affect the brain CT scan is a scan length with CVA case using 128 slice CT scan. In this study workmanship processing techniques and data analysis done by collecting data from the patient's CT scan examination head with as many as 30 cases of CVA patient data to see mAs, pitch, rotation time, CTDIvol, and dose length product (DLP). Then the data will be obtained DLP value received by the head of the organ. Then the results will be calculated value of the effective dose and will further analyzed the influence of the scan length and value of the radiation dose received by patients. The conclusion from this observation that the average yield value effective dose in radiological emergency Installation Dr. Soetomo with a scan length of 1 cm below the skull base does not exceed the value of the standard dose limits for the head of which has been determined by the ICRP in 2007. Since the obtained results 1.9219053 mSv is less than 2 mSv.
