Abstract

Proliferation and differentiation of the gastrointestinal system on the early of theirlife can affect the growth and performance of chick. Chlorella contains a unique substance that has a physiologically activating property. This substance cause young animals to growth at must faster rate and for damaged tissue to increase its healing rate. This study investigated the effects of Chlorella in diet to biomorphometric of intesfine, performance, carcass composition and economic efficiency value of domestic chick and broiler. This study used 20 male day old domestic and broiler chick. A completed randomized factorial (2 X 4) X 5 replication experimental dign was used in this study. Factor A is domestic chick (A1) and broiler (A2). Factor B is control (BO), Chlorella 0,05°/0 (B1): 0,10% (B2) and 0,15% (B3). Parameters measured at the end of this study were biomorphometric of the intestine (length, weight, index weight/iength of intestine, and hight of villi duodenum, jejunum and ileum), performance (body weight, growth, feed consumption and feed efficiency ratio), carcass composition (relative of carcass weight) and economic efficiency. Biomorphometric of the intestine, performance, carcass composition and economic eficiency analyzed using univariate and HSD test. The resutt showed that the biomorphometric of the intestine, performance, and carcass composition in the chick fed 0,10% Chlorella were greater (p < 0,05), respectively, than those of the control group. The feed consumption was decreased (p < 0,05) and feed efficiency ratio was increase in fed chick Chlorella. Economic efficency in fed chick Chlorella was increased but there was no significant (p 0,05) difference in economic eficiency in the control group and the Chlorella group. These findings suggest that the administration of Chlorella may be useful in promoting development of gastrointestinal and the growth of domestic chick and broiler. Key Words
