Abstract

The picture of health determinant factors influencing infant health status (dead or alive) is essential for science development and practical implication in public health site. The purpose of the study was to set up infant health index by analyzing determinant factors affecting health status of the infants in rural areas, such as socio-demographic factor, environmental factor, antenatal and natal factors and infant nursing factor. TI1e data were collected from Demographic and Health Indonesian Survey conducted in 1991 and 1994, and from locally survey carried out by researcher in Tulungagung and Trenggalek Regencies in 1998. Then, those data were by using alculated data analysis.
