Abstract
Five laboratory experimental researches in seven replications respectively, on crossingover of D. melanogaster have been carried out for studying the effects of temperature, age, sex, caffein and some of their interactions on intergenic and intragenic crossingover frequencies. Three of those researches also tried to find out new mutants caused by crossingover. The mechanisms of testcross and cross between F1 male and female were adopted in those researches. The results showed that second and fourth chromosome crossingover frequencies were alike between male and female although male crosingover were extraordinary. Crossingover were found in almost 100% of the second and 100% of the fourth chromosome lines of male. On the other hand crossingover were found in only 9,5% of the male third chromosome line. Recombination frequencies in the second and third chromosome of male raised 9 - 11 and 2,5 times higher respectively than those reported before. Female crossingover frequencies were not proportional to the marker distances in chromosomes. The effect of temperature on male and female crossingover frequencies depended on the kind of parental cross, the legend of F1 cytoplasm, the kind of marker and the kind of chromosome. There were no effects of age on female third chromosome crossingover frequencies, but in some treatments crossingover frequencies decreased in older male. Crossingover frequencies of first chromosome did not decrease in older female. There were no effects of interaction between age and temperature on crossingover of first and third chromosome. Crossingover frequencies of firts and third chromosome were not affected by caffein, but the effect of interaction between caffein and temperature on crossingover frequencies of third chromosome depended on the kind of parental cross. Intragenic crossingover frequencies within the locus of 1ere not affected by temperature , age and their interaction. The results showed too that no new mutants were born in these researches.
