Abstract
Introduction. Sleep behavior is very important to be analyzed for predicting the quality and quantity of sleep in adolescent street children. There are a lot of teenagers who are reluctant and lazy to get up early and go to school at
Rumah Singgah of Save Street Child Surabaya. Theory of planned behavior is used in this study. The aim of this study is to describe the influence of attitude, subjective norm, perceived ability of behavioral control toward intention. in addition, intentions, the intentions and perceived of the ability to control sleep
behavior is also being studied.
Method. This study was used descriptive analytic design with cross sectional approach. The population is adolescent street children at Rumah Singgah of Save Street Child Surabaya. The samples were 50 respondents taken by
purposive sampling technique. The independent variables were attitude, subjective norms, perceptions, and intentions. The dependent variable was the sleep behavior of adolescent street children. The data were collected by using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression test with significance level <0.05.
Results. The results shows that attitude (p = 0.000), subjective norms (p = 0.006), perceived behavioral control has a significant influence on the intention of
sleep behavior of adolescent street children ( p = 0.007). The perceived behavioral control toward the sleep behavior (p = 0.005). The intention to proceed the sleep
behavior has an influence toward the sleep behavior adolescent street children (p = 0.000)
Discussion and conclusion. It can be concluded attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control has in influence on intentions. The perceived behavioral control and intentions have in influence on sleep behavior. Nurses
should be the following researcher is expected to do related to the intervention of schedule sleep patterns to improve sleep behavior.
