Abstract
Preschool age ( 4-6 years ) is a stage where children learn to have an idea ( initiative ) without too many mistakes . Include social development emotional development in terms of emotion , personality , and interpersonal relationships . Social emotional development of preschoolers are affected by many factors , among others , genetic , environmental , family interaction , interaction with peers , and other factors . The pattern of maternal shift work affect the interaction between mother and child . The study design is descriptive cross sectional analytic approach . The independent variable in this study is the shift pattern of the mother . The dependent variable in this study is the social emotional development of preschoolers. The samples in this study were mothers who work shifts in the Premier Hospital Surabaya as many as 18 people were taken ririskiky purposive sampling and into the inclusion and exclusion criteria . Retrieval of data obtained through questionnaires administered to the mother researchers who work in shifts and have preschoolers in the Premier Hospital Surabaya and analyzed using Spearman 's rho statistical test . From the test results obtained Spearman correlation rho = 0.009 p value for significance ( p < 0.05 ) which means that there is a relationship between shift work patterns of social development emosioanal mothers with preschool-aged children ( H1 is accepted ) , whereas the Spearman correlation coefficient r = 0.595 showed no fairly strong relationship between the two. It can be concluded that the pattern of shift work good mother would make the social emotional development of preschoolers become better
