Abstract

"Background : Request of dental photo relates with dental examination. One of request of dental photo is dental photo periapical projection. Process of dental photo periapical projection-making needs a tool to propped dental film. Purpose: To make a new inovation of fixation tool that will be used for dental photo making, in order to make patient felt comfortable, radiographer makes dental photo easily and image is good. Subject and Method : This research uses descriptive method and 32 patients that 16 patients are 8 men and 8 women used their finger and other 16 patients used fixation tool when they did dental photo. Result : There are 32 patients. In comfortable side, 14 patients (87.5%) told that they felt comfortable when they used fixation tool of dental photo, but 2 patients felt uncomfortable. Whereas 7 patients (43.75%) felt comfortable when they used their finger than fixation tool, and 9 other patients (56.25%) felt uncomfortable. There are 4 radiographers that we asked for easy side, 3 of them (75%) said that they made dental photo with fixation tool easily but one of them (25%) said that it wasn't easy. In time side, 3 radiographers (75%) said that they made dental photo with fixation tool faster than patient's finger whereas one of them (25%) said that it's not fast than usually. And for making effectivity, 3 radiographers (75%) said it's effective, and 1 radiographer (25%) said it's not effective. Conclusion : The making of this fixation tool is easy because it made of easy materials. Using fixation tool is more comfortable and effective than patient's finger because when radiographer used patient's finger, it took long time for process making dental photo. This fixation tool of dental photo had high value of percentage from comfortable, time process, and effective side for radiographer."
