Abstract
Injected contraceptive is a hormonal contarceptive which is given through an injection. It is administered according to the type of injection used by the acceptor. To have repeated injection, the acceptor should come as at the time as designated by health care provider. If the acceptor come late, there will be a risk of pregnancy. Therefore, mother’s compliance is very important in having repeated family planning injection. The objective of this study was to analyze factors related to mother’s compliance to have repeated injection in the working area of Community Health Center, Pacar Keling, Subdistrict Tambaksari, Surabaya.
The design of this study was cross-sectional. Population comprised mother’s who had repeated injection. Samples were recruited using purposive sampling. Samples consisted of 40 respondents meeting the inclusion criteria. The independent variables were knowledge, attitude, education, and the distance of community health center. The dependent variable was mother’s compliance in having repeated injection. Data were taken using questionnaire and observation, and analyzed by using Spearman’s Rho statistical test with significance level p< 0.05.
The results showed t5hat compliance had correlations with knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.001), education (p = 0.000), and the distance of community health center (p = 0.193). this indicated that knowledge, attitude, and education had significant correlation with compliance. It was found that the predominant factors related to compliance were knowledge and education.
