Abstract

Introduction. Nurse workload analysis can be viewed from various aspects, such as the tasks executed by the main function. Higher nurse workloads affected the performance of nurses in the nursing documentation. Documentation becomes important because as a professional responsibility of nurses to patient. The purpose this study was to analyze of nursing workload time and motion study methods and nursing care documentation based SBAR. Methods. The design of this study was a descriptive study with cross-sectional approach. The population was associate nurses. Sample was taken using consecutive sampling technique and 10 associate nurses included in the inclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was nurse workload time and motion study methods. The dependent variable was nursing documentation based SBAR. Data were collected by using observation. Data were analyzed by using Spearman's Rho Correlation with a degree of significance p < 0,05. Result and analysis. Percentage of nursing workload on the morning shift at 90%, 88,75% for the afternoon shift and night shift by 63,3%. Simultaneously, the percentage of productive actions performed by nurses at 78,8% and non-productive acts of 21,2%. Partially, nurse workload significantly influence the completeness of documentation of nursing care (p = 0,01) and nurse workload significantly influence the accurate of the documentation of nursing care (p = 0,02). Discussion and Conclusion. The workload of nurses time and motion study method was high at the morning and afternoon shift, ideal at the night shift. SBAR-based documentation of nursing care performed by nurses belonging to the category is complete and accurate. Level nurse workload time and motion study methods affected the performance of nurses in the nursing documentation based SBAR. High workload the nurses documenting nursing care incomplete and inaccurate, whereas low semakain the workload of nurses documenting nursing care complete and accurate.
