Abstract

The. data of Pu.Skesmas Krembung shows that 100% of mothers giving supplementary breastfeeding to their babies too early. Giving suplementary breastfeeding to under six month can cause several problem , especially digestion problems, such as : diarrhea and infection. There were many factors that influence mothers in giving suplementary breastfeeding to their 0~6 months baby. Some of them are: mother's knowledge, mother's level education, mother's attitude, family support and health service support. The porp.use of this study is to learn the dominant factors that influence mother's in giving suplementary breastfeeding to their baby between 0-6 months. The population for this study is all of the mother's thad have babies between 0-6 months in Kelurahan Tanjek Wagir and 15 of them were selected to be the sample. The variables in this study divided in two, which are dependent variable and indevendent variable. Dependant variable include: mother's knowledge, mother's level education, mother's attitude, family support and health service support, while independant variable are the factors that influence mothers in giving suplementary breastfeeding to their 0-6 months baby. · The statistical test used in this study is spearman test. The result of the test between mother's knowledge and mother's action shows (p=0,007 and r=0,667), between mother's level education and mother's action shows (p=O,OO and r=0,837), between mother's attitude and mother's action shows (p= 0,00 and r-0,866), between family support and mother's action shows (p=0,605 and r=.,.0,145), between health service support and mother's action shows (p=0,078 and r=0,469). It is concluded that mother's knowledge, mother's level education and mother's attitude, influence mother's in giving suplementary breastfeeding to their 0-6 months baby in Kelurahan Tanjek Wagir, Kecamatan Krembung, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Further studies should involve langger respondent and better measurenment tools to obtain more accurate results.
