Abstract

Cold and warm compress represent to decrease the body temperature rose. According to this receptor, gift compress can be given some body part, among other thing forehead/head, neck / armpit (body fold) and abdominal wall. His gift eam with cold and also warm compress. During this time not yet been known area part of which more effective in decrease body temperature, because of have never been conducted by a research to know effectiveness this body. Design of this research is Quasy Experiment (pre and post test). Population in this research is all of fever patient (DHF) which taken care of pavilion room and child room of Pamekasan hospital, with body temperature above 38°c, taken care first day, don't experience semi / weight dehydration. Many of 20 sample, that is 10 patient with gift compress abdominal wall area and 10 patient at armpit area. Intake sample (Sampling) hy conseculive sampling with analysis of data use statistical test T test Independent Sampling, with value of meaning 0,05. Result which got in this research is gift of warm compress abdominal wall and arteriole area very effective in decrease body temperature, where average decrease of temperature each 0,33°c and 0,5°c. From test ofpaired t test group of warm compress very strong, that is got value of probabilities 0,000 where very effective manifestly with value p = 0,003. While result test Independent t test to show pre and post second variable there no difference with value p = 0,809 and p = 0,815. Limitation of this research at least the time and sum up patient taken as sample and existence gift antibiotic which also influence to decrease body temperature. Conclusion which can be taken gift of warm compress area abdominal wall and arteriole area both same effective in decrease body temperature.
