Abstract
Psychosocial stress is a stress which is caused by external individual factors.
Stress condition causes spesific effects, including physiological and behavioral
reactions. Behavioral reactions include the increasing of the alcohol consumption,
increasing of the smoking frequency, excessive eating or lossing appetite and drugabuse.
Relapse can be the maladaptive behavioral reaction when a former drugabuser
experiences psychosocial stress. The objective of this research was to analyze
the presence of the correlation between psychosocial stressors and relapse of the
drug-abusers.A cross sectional was used in this study. The population were drug-abusers
who were cared in Pondok Pesantren Inabah Suryalaya Surabaya. Total samples
were 11 respondents, which taken by using purposive sampling who met to the
inclusion criteria. The independent variables in this research were the psychosocial
stressors, and the dependent variable was relapse of the drug-abusers. Data were
collected by using structured questionaire and interview, then analyzed by using
Spearman Rank Correlation Test with significant level <0,05 and Content Analyze.
The result showed that psychosocial stressors level had a strong correlation
with relapse incidents for the drug-abusers (p=0.02, r=0.685).
