Abstract

Low level laser (LLL) was common for therapeutic means. There are various type of LLL, among other is GaAIAs (Gallium Aluminum Arsenicum) type. This type of LLL has the advantage in practice, because the portable form. This kind of laser instrument can be used to assist healing of certain level pulpitis. Unfortunately the utility was still in controversy of the result, such as biomodulation. To know the biomodulation of LLL effect upon the immunological response in pulpitis, an experimental study had been intended by experimental post control design on both reversible and irreversible pulpitis by pathobiological paradigm and stress immunocompetent cell concept. The population consist of extracted human teeth derived from 17-40 year, male and female. The teeth were taken out from Orthodontics and Prosthodontics section patients at Puskesmas Kecamatan Jatinegara and Matraman, Jakarta Timur. To enable application of the laser instrument the selected teeth consist of 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23 and 45, 44, 43, 33, 34, 35. Those teeth had been lasered in 2 or 5 minutes length time. The samples were taken after 7 days from the starting time of application. From these samples variables on macrophage, IgG, IgM, lymphocyte Thelper CD4"'" and lymphocyte Tcytotoxic CD8.;. will be observed. The control samples were taken out from those pulpitis without laser application. All of sample were indicated for extraction teeth (Orthodontic, Prosthodontic criterion). The number of sample was 10 for each group. From this study so far i.e. after analyzing the data by multivariate analysis (a = 0.005), it is known that 5 minutes application of GaAlAs in reversible group pulpitis was the only exert the biomodulation effect upon the immunological response. Both the humoral and the cellular immunity of reversible pulpitis was influenced by GaAlAs. That means somebody using GaAlAs laser as therapeutic treatment, have to concerned on the type of pulpitis as well as the time of application .
