Abstract

Patients with femur fracture need to do range of motion (ROM) apractice in order to prevent muscle stiffness and decubitus. The objectives this study were to indentify and analyze some factors related to range of motain (ROM) practice on femur fracture patient with traction. The design this study was cross sectional. The samples consist of 20 respondents of femur fracture . The sampels were taken from population by a nonprobability sampling with consecutive sampling approach. The independent variables were knowledges, affectives and family support. Spearman rho test ( α ≤ 0,05) showed ρ =0,011 for knowledges, ρ=0,040 for affectives and ρ=0,040 for family support. In conclusion, there was a significant correlation between knowledges, affective and family supports with range of motion (ROM) prectices in femur fracture patient with traction in surgical ward RSUD Dr Soetomo Surabaya. The clinical implication of this finding is need an standard operation procedure of range of motion (ROM), so range of motion (ROM) can implemented by nurse in order to prevent muscue stiffeness and decubitus on femur fracture patients with traction along waiting time for surgery. For further research it might be expanded this study with more number of respondents and use a valid and reliable instrument.
