Abstract
Extremity fractures problems were often found in hospitals around the world. One of the intervention was by surgical. Pre-operative period during surgical intervention was also makes the patient anxious. Recitation of Al quran (murattal) which is listen to pre-operative patients with extremity fractures is healing sounds that can affect anxiety level. The aim of this study was to identify the effect of reciting Al quran (murattal) to anxiety level in pre-operative patient with extremity fractures on surgical room B RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. The design of this research was quasy experiment. This study is statisticaly analyzed by using wilcoxon sign rank test with level of significance p=0,05 . Sample of this study was pre-operative patients with extremity fractures. 10 patients met the inclusion criteria, divided into two groups of research. One as interventing group and sas controlling group in other hand. sampling method by using purposive sampling. The result was, there are reducement of anxiety level on intervention group after reciting Al quran (murattal), which is showed on p=0.041 . In other hand, control group didn' t experience significant effect of reciting Al quran (murattal) in reducing anxiety level on pre-operative patient with extremity fractures. That might be caused by lack of psychological preparation in spiritual and relaxation before surgical operation. This research shows that reciting Al Quran (murattal) affects the anxiety level of pre-operative patient with extremity fractures, which is identified by changing in biological and psychological response of patient as mentioned on HARS. Further research with complex data that shows anxiety level such as physiological, cellular system analyze and electrical brain wave response in patients is needed, and also more samples is needed to get accuracy of result.
