Abstract

The woman who would menstruate usually get pre-menstrual syndrome such as breast tenderness, headache, cramps, pain, and swelling two weeks before the menstruation occurred and disappeared after finish of menstruate. Prevention of syndrome pre-menstrual might be used nutrition diet. Soybean milk contains isoflavone which is one of essential nutrition that have an affect on PMS by 30 gr soybean milk everyday for two weeks. This study given soybean milk for student at Junior High School 2 Unesa Surabaya to analyzed the effect of soybean milk on the student pre-menstrual syndrome. Methode : pre-experimental (one group pre test post test) design. The population is student at Junior High School Unesa 2 Surabaya, involving eleven respondents acquired by purposive sampling. The independent variable was soybean milk and the dependent variable was pre-menstrual syndrom. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test and paired T-test with significance level of p ≤ 0,05. The present study that soybean milk could not reduce pain of syndrome pre-menstrual with p = 0,317. The present to systolic blood pressure p = 0,011, diastolic blood pressure p = 0,049 and heart rate p = 0,013. Based on the present study can be conclude that the soybean milk had no effect on pain of pre-menstrual syndrome. Soybean milk had effect on blood pressure and heart rate. It is suggested that soybean milk did’nt proven yet to reduced pain of pre-menstrual syndrome. So, pre-menstrual syndrome can be prevented by avoiding risk factor of syndrome pre-menstrual such as stress and diet that improved severity of pre-menstrual syndrome.
