Abstract

Nursing care is an important part of nursing practice. Currently, nursing committee has not developed nursing conceptually appropriate to the duties and functions, so it has not been able to play an optimal role in quality assurance program in nursing. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of motivation on the role of nursing committee in nursing care at Pamekasan Hospital. This was an analytical studies with pre-experimental design (one-group pre-post test design). The population comprised 16 persons from the committee members with a sample of 16 persons and met the inclusion criteria. The technique used was the "Total Sampling" with the independent variable was motivation and the dependent variable was the members of nursing committee. Data were collected using questionnaires and statistical analysis used Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed that between before and after the provision of motivation there was an increase in the role of committees in nursing care. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p = 0.0014 < alpha = 0.05, indicating there was the effect of motivation on the role of nursing committee in nursing care at Pamekasan Hospital. In conclusion, the provision of motivation has effect on the role of committee members in nursing care. Health professionals, especially nurses, are expected to further enhance the implementation of SAK in the room to improve nursing services.
