Abstract

The goal of the study was to observe the influences of Stride Jump Crossover training with work relief and Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief upon reaction time and leg muscle strength. This study used ''real experiment" by n1eans of research design called "Randomized Pre-test - Post-test Control Group Design--. The population of this study were male students of FPOK IKIP Manado in Tondano. Their amount were 78 students. Tested persons were divided into 3 groups using matched ordinal pairing based on test of beginning reaction time. Determining experimental group and control group were held randomly. The first group was given Stride Jump Crossover training with work relief, while the second group was given Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief and third group was not given a treatment or called control group. The training was held during 6 weeks with training frequency 3 times a week. Reaction time and leg muscle strength \vere measured 3 times: pregiving treatment (pre-test), the last ofthe third weeks (post-test 1) and last of sixth week (post-t~st 2). Reaction time was measured using ''Reaction Time Meter", '"'bile leg muscle strength was measured using "Leg Dynamometer". Data were analysed through descriptive statistics, Anacova, Anava same subject and paired t-test at significant standard 5%. The result of data analysis shows as below: a Reaction time of Stride .lump Crossover training with work relief (X=0.459) and rest relief (X=0.4 76) were shorter than control group (X=0.607), and it is significant at p = 0.000. b. Reaction time of Stride Jump Crossover training with work relief (X=0.459) was shorter than reaction time of Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief (X=0.4 76), but was not significant at p = 0.193. c. Leg muscle strength of Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief (X=139.558) and Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief (X=139.692) increased more than the control group (X=97.192), and it is significant at p = 0.000. d. Leg muscle strength of Stride Jump Crossover training with rest relief (X=l39.692) increased more tban Stride Jump Crossover training with work relief (X=139.558), but \\'as not significant at p = 0.289.
