Abstract

Clinical nurse interested in doing toward nursing research in Prof.Dr.WZ Johannes Kupang hospitals is very low. Interests are affected by the background composed of nurses which social background, personal background and information background, perceived behavioral control as on the Theory of Planned Behaviour. The purpose of this study was to analyze the background factors associated with interest in conducting clinical nurse nursing research-based Theory of Planned Behaviour. Design used in this research was correlation study with cross-sectional. As many as 54 respondents were recruited as subject in this research by using probability sampling, namely simple random sampling. The data than processed using test Spearman rho corellation, Chi square and linear of multiple regression. Statistical significance was assigned at α < 0,05. The result show that age was not related with intention (p = 0,421), gender was not related with intention (p = 0,535), education was not related with intention (p = 0,893). On the other hand, personality was related with interest (p = 0.048), the personal value was not related with interests (p = 0.073), experience was related with intention (p = 0.003), knowledge was related with intention (p = 0.014), perceived behavioral control was related with intention (p = 0.000). Further more the interests was not significantly related with behavior (p = 0.594). In conclusion personal background factors (personality), information background factors (experience, knowledge) and perceived behavioral control toward interest. Personal background factors (personal values), social background: age, sex and education was not significantly related with interest. Interest was not related with behavior.
