Abstract

Patient after ischemic stroke with urinary incontinence can get kegel exercise. This is important to give early rehabilitation to get optimum healthy after ischemic stroke. It will reduce their social activity and make them feel isolated. Kegel exercise is one out of many ways to help many patient with urinary incontinence. Many case with urinary incontinence to help with kegel exercise. This study was aimed to analized an effect of kegel exercise in patient with ischemic stroke. This study used a quasy experimental design. Total sample used in this study were 14 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. The independent variables were kegel exercise and dependent variables were urinary sensation, urinary volume and urinary interval. Data were collected by questionary and analyzed using Mann Withney U Test urinary sensation (p = 0,023 ), urinary volume (p = 0,002) and urinary interval (p = 0,007). Wilcoxon U Test pre test and post urinary sensation (p = 0,014), urinary volume (p = 0,015) and urinary interval (p = 0,015) Result showed that after the kegel exercise was 100% of experimental group was decrease felt an urinary incontinence. It is mean the kegel exercise in patient with urinary incontinence has significant effect in prevention of urinary incontinence. It can be concluded that kegel exercise has an effect to urinary incontinence in patient ischemic stroke, so we hope that kegel exercise would be applicated in patient urinary incontinence has good way out to over it well. Further studies to over come the problem should involve larger respondents to get more accurate result.
