Abstract

Enzootic Bovine Leucosis (EA) or cattle leucemia, or Bovine Lymphocytomatosis is a progressive and fatal diseas in cattle. It is caused by Retrovirus C particel and not to be zoonotic. The diase is very contagious in cattle and buffalo through insect bite and individual contact. Infection may be sub clinic. Ussally incubation period of on ang half years, about 70-95% of diseased animals will die causing high economic losses. The therapy for the disease has not been found yet. But for preventive action may conduct strict quarantine procedure, do not import cattle from infected area and doing prompt diagnosis. The diseases may be recognized from clinical signs, serological test using agar gel immunoddiffusion (AGID), Complement fixation test (CFT) and the blood pathology picture. Immuno Diagnostic test of AGID gel Immunodiffusion is the most frequent method to be done. Because of the difficulties in getting EI31„ kit antigen, an effort will be done to get the antigen kit. It is hopped that th disease can be prevented as early as possible. The formulation for antigen kit E131„ was made by inoculating EBI, virus in ovine lung cells, vero cells or foetal kidney lamb cells to produce control positive serum and weak control positive serum FBI, virus was inoculated in to rabbit to produce reference serum, and the negative serum was taken from a healthy sheep. (Antigen kit ER1. kit is kept in one box containing antigen, positive control serum, weak positive control serum, negative control serum, reference scrum and diluent)
