Abstract
Hypertension is a condition manifest by increase of blood pressure in artery. Hypertension mostly caused by modern life style, overweight and diet. Each region have nutritional and health problem, depend on the culture of that place. South Kalimantan has many agricultural comodity, one of them is coconut. Many kind of food use coconut as the mixtures, such as Ketupat Kandangan. The aimed of this study was to analyze the correlation between ketupat kandangan consumption habit with hypertension cases in BLUD RS Brigjend H. Hassan Basry Kandangan.
This study used retrospective design, with total sample 30 respondents. The pusrposive sampling was used in this study. The dependent variable was hypertension case and the independent variable was ketupat kandangan consumption habit. Data were analyzed used Spearman's Rho test with level of significance a=0,05.
The result showed that there was a significant correlation between ketupat kandangan consumption habit with hipertension case with p =0,052. It can be concluded that ketupat kandangan consumption habit from generation to generation, low nutritional knowledge and consumed salty food make high cases of hypertension. It is recommended for health practisioner to give more health promotion about hypertension and nutritional knowledge to decrease hypertension cases in South Kalimantan
