Abstract

AMeloblastoma is a tumour of the central. tissue of the. jaw that grows slowly, in the early stage very few symptoms, but it gradually increase in size that cause deformity, loosening of the tooth and facial assymetry. Ameloblastoma can enlarge into an enormous size, so that causing difficulty swallowing, spenking etc because of its pressure symptoms to the njoining structures. The cortex of the jaw can be so thin, even perforations can happen Inlraotat or outside through the, skin (6). The first detailed description tins done by FALUN in 1879, it arises from dental epithelium, enamel organ itself, the rests . . of Serre, which represent the remnants of dental lamina, the rests of MaInssez, which are the remnants of Hertwig's root sheath, the epithelint lining of odontogenic cyst., (6). These origins of histiogenesis represent Various appearance of histo¬pathology of amelbblastoma, so that difficulties can happen in diagno¬sis. Some mesenchymal neoplastic elements. can mimic the appearance of pmelobliistoina, clinically as well as histopatoiogically. Ameloblas¬tic fibroma, myxoma and odontogenic granuloma sometimes lovethe same pictures. Radiologically omeloblastoma can appear as multIcystic, honey-comb or soap bubble, unfortunately this symptoms are not pat hog-nomonle for ameloblastoma.lt can also happen in myxoma, nmeloblastic fibroma and giant cel tumour.
