Abstract
Preschool is an important phase for the development of social and emotional. One of the methods to increase the development of social and emotional in preschool children is sociodramatic play. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of sociodramatic play to the development of social and emotional in preschool children. This study used Quasy Experimental design. The samples were recruited by using purposive sampling that consist of 20 respondents, taken by the inclution criteria. They were divided into 2 group, treatment and control groups, each comprising 10 individuals. The independent variable was sociodramatic play and the dependent variables were the development of social and emotional preschool children. Data were collected by using observation sheet. They were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Mann Whitney U-Test with level of significance α = 0,05. The result showed that in treatment group before and after given sociodramatic play the significance of social development was p= 0,012 and emotional development was p= 0,008. Between treatment and control groups the significance of social development was p= 0,023 and emotional development was p= 0,019. It can be concluded that sociodramatic play has significantly effect to the social and emotional development of preschool children. Important to do for further research about the effect of sociodramatic play on the achievement learning in preschool children
