PENGARUH BERMAIN PLAYDOUGH TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MOTORIK HALUS PADA ANAK RETARDASI MENTAL DI PONDOK SOSIAL KALIJUDAN KOTA SURABAYA.

Abstract
Mentally retarded child has limitations in some respects, namely: intelligence, skill weaknesses in the field of motion, physically unhealthy, coordination and gross and fine motoric skill were lacking. These circumstances led to their fine motor skills are not developed optimally so that the child will have difficulty in their daily activity. This research aimed to analyze the influence of playdough play with the fine motoric skill in children with mental retardation at Pondok Sosial Kalijudan Surabaya.
This research used Quasy Experimental design. The respondents in this study were 50 mentally retarded child who was in Pondok Sosial Kalijudan Surabaya, selected by purposive sampling and met the inclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was playdough, the dependent variable was th fine motoric skill of children with mental retardation. Observation data were collected and analyzed "Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney”.
Results showed there were differences of fine motor skill before and after intervention, in the experimental group then p = 0.005 or <0.05. There were no difference the fine motor skill before and aftaer intervention, in the control group thenp = 0.083 or> 0.05. means that playdough influences of fine motor skill, p = 0.002 or <0.05.
It can be concluded that there is influences playdough on fine motor skills in children with mental retardation. Further research could be given about the methods of the other fine motor exercises aimed at improving fine motor skills mentally retarded child.
