Abstract

Introduction. Underfives posyandu visit is defined as the visit of a mother and her underfive to the site where health care is provided. However, the number of visits to Posyandu Anggrek was less optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine correlation between knowledge and attitudes about underfives posyandu to the visit to posyandu. Method. This was a descriptive analytical cross-sectional study. The population involved consisted of mothers of the underfives at Posyandu Anggrek, Kelurahan Dukuh Sutorejo, Surabaya, comprising 45 respondents. The independent variables were mothers' knowledge and attitude, and the dependent variable was the visit ofthe mother. Data collection used questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square statistical test. Result. The results of the statistical test showed a significant relationship between knowledge and the visit ofthe mother (p = 0.017 and C = 0.391) and a significant correlation between attitudes and the visit ofthe mother (p = 0.014 and C = 0.343). Discussion and conclution. This study concludes that knowledge and attitude of underfives' mothers have significant correlation in increasing the rate of visits to posyandu. Future studies are expected to use other variables than knowledge, attitudes that can affect the rate of visit to the posyandu.
