Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the main problem in health systems and a global public health threat that has increased dramatically over the past 2 decades. World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that the number of people with diabetes in Indonesia will rise from 8.4 million in 2000 to 21.31 in 2030. Patients with DM are prone to multiple compilations such as diabetic foot uber (DFU). DFU common complication of DM that has shown an increasing trend over previous decades. In total, it is estimated that 15% of patients with diabetes will suffer from DFU during their lifetime. The management of DFU as follows: education, bood sugar control, wound debridement, advanced dressing, offloading, surgery, and advanced therapies that are used clinical. Glycaemic control has been enunciated as the foremost principle in effective management of diabetic foot ulcers and preventing amputations. A target HhAle of < 7% is acceptable in diabetic patients and is applicable for diabetic foot ulcer patients as well.
