Abstract

Tujuan penulisan ini untuk mengetahui efek biokimiawi dan ef ek biologis afl atoksin. Tulis an ini merupakan tinja.uan pustaka. Aflatoksin adalah toksin yang dihasilkan terutama oleh jamur Aspergillus flavus dan jamur Aspergillus parasiticus. Selain itu dikenal juga beberapa spesies lain dari Aspergillus, Penicillium, dan Rhizopus yang juga mampu menghasilkan aflatoksin. Ada empat macam aflatoksin yang pertama kali di - kenal yaitu aflatoksin B1 , B2 , G1 , dan G2 • Dari ke empat macam aflatoksin ini, diketahui afla toksin B1 merupakan r acun yang paling toksik. Banyak dipela jari efek bi okimiawi da.n e f ek biol ogis afl atoksin B1 ini. Efek-efek biokimi awi aflatoksin diantaranya met abolisme pada turunan a t au deriva t yang berinteraksi dengan khromatin, penurunan akti vi t as "templ at e" dan pengharnbat a.n RNA polimer as e , dengan akiba t berkurangnya sintesis RNA dan penghamba t an sintesis pro t ein. Selain i tu a f l a t oksin j uga mempengaruhi sintesis DNA, p engi kat an a.f l a toksin t e r h a d a p DNA dan t e r h ad e.p hi s t on. Daya r acun aflat oksin ini disebabkan oleh kemampuannya
