Abstract

The thesis talks about connotations in the language of radio advertisements. Connotation becomes the object of the writing as it seems to be one of the ways to make advertisement more interesting. Sometimes, it can be catched easily .for it is stated so clearly in a certain part of the advertisement but sometimes it comes from the whole advertisement, so it needs interpretation This deals with two problems. They are (1) connotations which are usually contained in the language of advertisement and (2) the kind of dominant connotation. Data were collected by recording the programs broadcasted by seven radio stations in Kediri and the duration of recording is two hours per day £or each station.
