Abstract

Learning evaluation is one method to asess cogmtIve, affective, and pychomotor capability of students along the learning process. Factors affecting the result of learning evaluation is internal factor (capability, integilence, interest, attention, attitude, motivation) and external factor (facilities and equipment, curiculum, teaching quality), learning methode). The objective of this study was to identify the corelation between interest and tutorial method with the result of learning evaluation of the subject Nursing Medical Surgery among student of Nursing program, Health Polytechnique, Kupang. This study used cross-sectional design with population of 82 individuals. Sample were enrolled using total sampling. The independent variable was interest and tutorial method, while the dependent variable was the result of learning evaluation. Data were collected by means of Spearman's rho statistical test with significance level p ~ 0.05. The result showed that most of the respondents (65%) had high interest, and the tutorial method was seen as satisfactory (64.4%), and the result of learning evaluation was also mostly seen as satisfactory (86.6%). There was correlation between interest (p = 0.008) and tutorial (p = 0.029) with the result of learning evaluation. Conclusively, it can be drawn that the strong interest to study can it fact add up the student's achivement and generally the students are able to well understand their subject through tutorial method. However, the instructors need to decide on several different teaching methods which cause the students to pay more attention and desire to study harder so that the ultimate goals of education my be accomplished. There should be further research on correlation of the intelligency and learning method with the learning evaluation.
