Abstract

This study was aimed to know heat stress effect after supplementation of black seed (Nigella sativa) infusion for Hsp70. About 45 experimental broilers Cobb500 were stressed using high temperature which was vary from 35°C and 38°C for 8 hours started from 8am to 4pm, also 28°C as treatment control. Those temperatures based on the most temperature which might be achieved during dry season in Indonesia. Infusion of black seed served for 200/o and 40% and applied orally. After chickens reached 29 days old, the blood serum collected and taken from brachia! vein henceforth examined using ELISA kit Chicken Hsp70 (Cusabio Biotech Co., LTD Catalog No. CSB-Ell 196Ch.). The result showed that black seed infusion could reduce Hsp70 rate significantly on stressed broiler than stressed broiler which were not supplemented with black seed infusion. Black seed infusion with 20% concentration was enough to give protective effect against heat stress of hot climate. Thymoquinone as an active ingredient of black seed might work as antiinflamation which also happened on stressed broilers.
