Abstract

Research on the blood profile of broiler infected by E. tenel/a providing meniran (P. niruri Linn) simplicia has been performed. This research aimed to identify effect of meniran supplement as reduction on broiler infected by E. tene/la based on the change of blood profile including erythrocyte count. hemoglobin level and hematocrit. Type of research was experimental using complete random design. Data obtained was analyzed by Analysis of Variant (ANA VA). In this research four groups of 28 chickens have been divided and each group consisted of 7 chickens. Group A was used as negative control, group B as positive control, group C was chicken group provided by meniran simplicial on 21 days old, then the chicken was infected by E. tene/la oocytes with 5.000 oocyst/chicken dosage on 24 days old. Group D meniran simplicia and oocyst E. tenella delivery were performed in 24 days old by 5.000 oocyst/chicken dosage. Simplicia delivery was performed concomitant with E. tene/la infection. After the treatment data and blood inspection were performed. Of the research result it was found that blood figure change seen was there is no difference on erythrocyte count, hemoglobin level and hematocrit (P>0.05). Hence it could be concluded that purpose of meniran delivery is expected to improve eritrocyte count, hemoglobin and hematocrit that were suspected decreasing due to E. tenet/a infection have not provided significant result.
