Abstract
Egg drop syndrome ‘ 76 adalah suatu penyakit viral yang menyerang unggas terutama ayam dan itik. Kejadian penyakit egg drop syndrome ’76 ditemukan pertama kali oleh Van Eck di Belanda pada tahun 1976. Penyebab penyakit egg syndrome ’76 adalah adenovirus ungags yang dapat mengaglutinasikan erythrocyte ayam, termasuk dalam golongan DNA-virus. Virus penyebab EDS ’76 tahan terhadap ether, chloroform serta relative tahan pada pH 5.0 – 9.0 dan suhu udara antara 4 dereajad – 50 derajad celcius.
