Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the number of the corpora lutea and embryos that were flushed after injection of hMG. human Menopausal Gonadothropin (hMG) originated from urine of menopausal women has good and relevant therapeutic effect on recipient or infertile women. The use of hormones for infertility HMG has not been studied by many previous researchers. HMG hormone turns out to have physiological functions similar to a mixture of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) from the anterior pituitary. But its main effect more like FSH, is able to stimulate growth and formation of follicles in the ovaries. This study used four female PE goats of PE which was adapted to local environment for the four weeks prior to treatment. During adaptation, the goats were monitored and recorded on the heat cycle. Goats recieved 75, 150, 225 and 300 IV of hMG on day 9 of the heat cycle. Goats were synchronized their estrus by intramuscular injection of 7.5 mg ofPGF2u. Observations on the ovaries did not show difference in the number of the corpora lutea of the right and left ovaries, respectively - each as follows: PI = 4 and 1, P2 = 3 and 2, P3 = 4 and 1, P4 = 4 and 2. Overall, the mean number of total corpora lutea was 5.25 ± 0.5, where to get the right ovary - average number of 3.75 ± 0,86 and to the left ovary was found - average 1.5 ± 1. From the result of flushing, the number of embryos were four, four, five, and five embryos, from goats PI, P2, P3, and P4 respectively.
