Thesis thesis, UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA.
Abstract
Zearalenone is a resorcylic acid lactone compound that is produced by
fungal Fusarium graminearum infection of edible grains and is believed to
influence reproduction by binding to estrogen receptors. This study examined the
potential of mycotoxin binders to eliminate the effect of zeara1enone on the total
follicles, corpus luteum, expression of caspase 9 ovaries as well as the amount of
lenght and weight of fetus in pregnant mice (Mus musculus). We analyzed 20
pregnant mices specimens randomly divided into 5 groups. All groups were given
treatment per oral with sonde till 10 days. K + as positive control weren't treated
zeara1enone and mycotoxin binders, K- as negative control were treated with
zeara1enone 0,1 mg/mice/day, PI were treated with zeara1enone 0,1 mg/mice/day
and mycotoxin binders 0,5 mg/mice/day, P2 were treated with zeara1enone 0,1
mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders I mg/mice/day, P3 were treated with
zeara1enone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 2 mg/mice/day. The data
was analyzed by ANOV A test. If there is a significant followed by Fisher's LSD
test. The result showed that the amount of total follicles had a significant
difference (p<0,05) between K- with P3. The result of corpus luteum showed not
significant difference (p>0,05) between K+, K-, PI, and P2. The other result
