Abstract
Introduction : Internalized stigma is commonly be experienced by leprosy client's. Leprosy caused disability thus affect to decreasing functional ability. Internalized stigma and disability level affect to leprosy client's quality of life. This research aimed to analyze internalized stigma and disability level with quality of life. Method: This research used descriptive correlational design with cross sectional approach. Sample size amounts ware 41 respondents. Independent variable was internalized stigma and disability level, dependent variable was quality of life in leprosy client. Quality of life measured by WHOQOL-BREF, internalized stigma measured by internalized stigma of mental ilness scale (ISM!) and disability level observation sheet. Data analyzed using spearman rank rho. Results: Internalized stigma criteria of leprosy clients in enough level as 87,8% and 73,2% experiencing disability at level 2. Amounts 48,8% of respondent's quality of life were enough level. There was correlation between internalized stigma and quality of life with p-value = 0,005, HI accepted, and correlation coefficient =- 0,432. There was no significant correlation between disability level and client's quality of life. Discussion : The relationship of internalized stigma was negative. It means higher internalized stigma that experienced related to lower quality of life. Further research should elaborate more about factors related adaptive respons of internalized stigma.
