Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know tachyzoite production ofT. Gondii infection on pregnant mice in intraperitoneal cavity. The experiment used 21 female BALB/c mice which oestrus were induced with combination of PMSG and HCG injection. This circumstance purpose to get the same age of pregnant. Then, all mice were divided into three treatments. Each treatment was composed of at least seven mice. The first treatment is the first trimester of pregnant, mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with 20 tachyzoites. The second treatment is the second trimester of pregnant, mice were injected intraperitoneally with the same dose. The third treatment is the third trimester of pregnant, mice were administered intraperitoneally with 20 tachyzoites. Four days post infection, mice were euthanized and performed washing of intraperitoneal cavity. Then, washing liquid examined and tachyzoite production counted by hemocytometer. Data stastitically analyzed using ANOV A and LSD. The result showed that tachyzoite production of the second trimester of pregnant was higher than the first and third trimester of pregnant. Briefly T gondii significantly affects tachyzoite production on pregnant mice in intraperitoneal cavity (p<0,05).
