Abstract

The research was conducted by study of resistance based on the CPS on the nasal mucosa specimens of dogs in Surabaya. The first step was the purification of isolates to obtain CPS bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius). Swab the dog nasal mucosa were purified on MSA media, and based on coccus clusters form of morphology, positive catalase and positive coagulase could be defined as CPS. The result of further sensitivity tested showed the two isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius were known to have the same picture of the resistance to methocillin where the suspected MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and MRSI (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus intermedius). Based on these results concluded that there was horizontal gene transfer-resistant between Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius on the same dog.
