Abstract

Patients who will be intraveneus therapy should be given an explanation (information) about the actions to be taken, so that the patient anxiety and patients can understand what to do Communication used is therapeutic communication. One of the satisfaction factor is communication. This study was aimed anaJyzed the correlation between therapeutic communication: information on intraveneus therapy with the patient satisfaction. This research used descriptive analytic design with cross sectional approach. The population was all patient in the wards Adi Husada Undaan hospital Surabaya. Total sample was 14 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. sampling used total sampling. The independent variables was communications therapeutic, and the dependent variable was patient satisfaction. Data were collection used a questionnaire. Datas were then analyzed by Spearman Rho with s ignificant level p s 0.05. The results showed has correlation between therapeutic communication: information on intraveneus therapy with patient satisfaction in Adi Husada Undaan hospitals Surabaya with the level of correlation was strong (r = 0.632) with a significant value of p = 0.015 (a = 0.05). The conclusion was there correlation between therapeutic communication: information on intraveneus therapy with patient satisfaction. Nurse in the Adi Husada Undaan Hospital already implementing sufficient therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction. Recommendation nurses are expected to further improve their knowledge and skills in communication so that patient satisfaction will increase even more.
