Abstract

Body's ability to adapt with the stress in elderly people is usually decreased and affects their heslth state such as hypertension, cardinc disorder and metabolic disorder (diabetes mellitus). In order to prevent hypertension, a nurse can do some effort by doing home visit. In which they have chances to help elderly people with hypertension through • health education. This study was aimed to find out the effects of home visit to blood pressure in elderly people with ptimer hypertension. This stody was a quasi experiment using pre-post test design. Samples were 20 elderly people taken from the population of elderly people with primer hypertension at Dukuh Soko, according to inclusion criteria. Samples were separated into two group, treating group and control group. Indepeodent vatiable was home visit, and depeodent variable was blood pressure. Data was collected using questionnaire and observation sheet then analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank rest and Mann Whitney U Test. Results showed that according to Wilcoxon signed ronk test in treating group, there was a significant differences of hypertension stadium on pre-test and post-test with p = 0.025. Mann Whitney U Test showed that there was a significant difference of hypertension stadium in treating group and control group. It means that there was an effect of home visit to blood pressure of elderly people with primer hypertension. It can be concluded that home visit affect the blood pressure of elderly people with ptimer hypertension. It was suggested that nurse should do • home visit and give health education about how to manage a nonnaI blood pressure. Further research should study about physical activity that bas an effect to control hypertension.
