Abstract

New generation of Indonesia inclining to have many emotional problem. One of factors that very influential to developing of child emotional is mother's behaviour in completing child emotional need Based on that explanation, the observer does the observation about mother's behaviour analysis in completing emotional need for preschool children in Pediatric Outpatient Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya. This study was aimed to learn mother's behaviour in completing child emotional need for preschool. Design used in Jhis study was disknptive analytic design. The population was all mother's who have preschool children in Pediatric Outpatient Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya. Total sample was 30 respondents, taken according to inclusion criteria. The sample selection was using non probability sampling type purposive sampling. Data were collected using stroctured questionnaire. Data were then analyzed, to know behaviour domain relation using speannan correlation test, with level of significance R "" 0,800 - 1, 00 was said that there is a strong correlation. Results showed that the greater part of mother (63%) were still lack of knowledge, 76,7% had positive attitude and 56,'7°/4 mother's action were good enough Results of speannan correlation test showed that relation between mother's knowledge and mother's action had correlation (R "" 0,684). Relation between knowledge and mother's attitude had no correlation (R:c 0,276), oven though mother's attitude had no correlation wilh mother's action (R ""0,354). It can be concluded that mother's knowledge in completing emOlional need for preschool has correlation with their action, but has no correlation with theiratlitude, and attitude mother's in completing child emotional need for preschool has no correlation with their knowledge.Further studies shuld involve larger respondents, better measurement tools, and in alongitudinal observation to obtain more accurate resuls.
