Abstract

Episiotomy wound is a cut made on the perineum at the end of period IT of delivering baby in order to prevent the tom or to accelerate the process of delivering baby. Episiotomy wound can be cured better by vulva hygiene action. The purpose of this research was to explain vulva hygiene effectiveness using hibicet and soap water in accelerating the recovery of episiotomy wound. This research used quasy experimental design. The independent variable in this study was vulva hygien using hibicet and soap water. The dependent variable was the recovery of episiotomy wound. The population of this study was post partum mothers with episiotomy in RSB Melinda Kediri. The number of hibicet group was 7 respondents and 7 respondents with soap water. Data result were analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann Whitney test with significant level at p:Sa (0.05). The result shows that vulva hygiene using hibicet and soap water had effect toward the recovery of episiotomy wound, with the result of reddish stage p=0.015, edema p=0.014, dry wound p=0.008, granulation p=0.O I 4, integratededge wound p=O.0 14. The soap water group showed that reddish stage was p=0.015, edema p=0.014, dry wound p=0.014, integrated-edge wound p=0.014. There was no significant difference between the effectiveness in those two groups at the inflammation stage, with the reddish stage p=l.00, edema p=0.317 and dry wound p=0.06. However, at the proliferation stage there was difference in the effectiveness of fast wound recovery with granulation p=0.037 and integratededge wound p=0.037. In conclusion, vulva hygiene using hibicet and soap water gives a significant effect on the recovery of episotomy wound. Further studies are needed to another alternative treatment in accelerating the recovery of episiotomy wound.
