Abstract

Employees are being burdened physically and psychologically. A high burden work, which is not suitable with their ability will cause the decrease of their achievement. This condition was also observed in Delta Swya Hospital, Sidoarjo. In this hospital, the role and function of the nurses were not satisfactory. The purpose of this study was to analyze the working burden of nurse at inpatients wards, Delta Surya Hospital, Sidoarjo. This study used cross-sectional descriptive design using total sampling method, which enrolled 37 individuals as respondents. The dependent variable was nurse's achievement, and the independent variable was working burden of a nurse. After being collected, the data were analyzed by using Double Regression Logistic test, with significance level ofp < 0.05. The result of this study showed that there are no influence of role and function-based working burden on the nurses' achievement, with significance level at Regression test of p = 0.659. The conclusion of this study is that working burden has no influence on working performance. Suggestion from this research is that nurse achievement should be maintained and improved through training and providing opportunity to take a higher level of education.
