Abstract

Introduction: Patient safety is freedom from accidental injury or prevent injury to patiens due to medical care and medication errors. The attitude of nurses to support the implementation of patient safety is needed to ensure the safety was an important issue that must be dealt with the management RSAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to analyze the knowledge, motivation, and attitude related and affect the implementation of patient safety in the room. Method: This study was an observational study, with cross sectional approach. The study population were total population all nurses working in the Hemodialysis were nine persons. The independent variable was knowledge, motivation, and attitude of nurse about patient safety in hemodialysis RSAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. Statistical analysis was used to test bivariate analysis Spearman's Rho correlation. The results of statistical analysis is the knowledge that support (67%), moyivation (56%), favorable attitudes (44%). Result: The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between3 knowledge (p = 0.739), motivation (p =0.983), and attitude (p = 0.231) on the .implementation of patient safety in the Hemodyalisis RSAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. Discussion: Conclutions in this study was to emphasize the importance of communication between shifts on the condition of the patient, more disciplined documentation of nursing care to ensure accurate information, realize the importance of hand washing to prevent nosocomial infections. And to increase the motivation necessary to have distinctive award from management to nurses who apply patient safety properly. For example: reception services, opportunities for promotion and learning opportunitiesw to a higher level again. Result: The recommendation builds upon, and complements, work on patient safety carried out by the World Health Alliance for Patient Safety, the Council of Europe and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD).
