Abstract

This study , is a part of Gerontologic Nursing research. The Objective is, to know the influence of “Senam Lansia” to decreas the quantity of the oldest People’s sick complains/illness at Rumah Usiawan Panti Surya Surabaya. The examination of the complainment is using the psychological and general body system complain analysis of the people. The variabel of the study are 1) the characteristic of the respondents (age, sex, marital status, education, past occupation, religious and length of stay in the "Rumah Usiawan Panti Surya", 2) their sick complains/illnes (system of respiratory, cardiovascular, Ileum, digestive, urinary, musculosceletal and psychological). The design of the research is "pra experimental" “giving " Senam Lansia" and questionare in order to evaluat the degree of their complain one weeks before and after intervention. The sampel is selected by total sampling. They are 35 respondents They should follow the program for 4 weeks, since August 27 t to September 22 th, 2001. THe data is computed by "Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test" with p = (J,05. The result of the study, are as follows: 71,4 % of them are 66 - 75 years ; 9 1,4 % women length of stay are 0 – 5 years 74,3 % are widow/bachelor ; 82,90 are past private employee, and almost of th,em are Christian. Based on the spesific data analyisis, the" Senam Lamsia can reduce the respondent's sick complainments with p=0,000. The decreasing of their complaints significantly are foud on respiratory system (p = 0,001), neuro system (p = 0,035), dygestive system (p = 0,004), musculosceletal system (p -= 0,000), and psycological aspect (p = 0.000). However “Senam Lansia” is not significant found on reducing complaint on cardiovascular and urinary system (p = 0,0785 ; P 0,/59). The conclusion, there is a significant influence betwen " Senam Lansia" to decreasing t.~e oldest sick complaintment. Its mean that" Senam / Lansia <4 is one kind of the activity program for oldest to decrease their sick complaint.
