Abstract

"After the diagncsis of HIV, some patient will given emotional reaction cause great catastrophe event. Patient need emotional adjustment to fight virus proliferation and continue the threatment. Therefore, they extremely need psychological support, one of which is called asertiftherapy. The asertiftherapy is modality therapy of nursing to facilitated patient explore their feeling and emotion exactly in group therapy. The relations between patient in group represent terapeutik media and for increasing pshyhological support also comprehensi f threatment. The purpose of this research is to analyse influence of asertif therapy to dinamic of emotional adjustment patients after the diagnosis HIV. ' The research is the quasy-experimental used pre-post test control group design. The popUlation consisted of outpatient HIV admitted at UPIP!. Samples were recruited using purposive sampling, and there were t 8 samples who met the inclusion criteria. The observed variables were the application of asertif therapy and the change of thysical responses (blood pressure and pulse) also psychological responses. The data were collected through observation and ~l1f'stionnaire in which they were then analize making u~c of Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, Man-Whitney test, Paired T -test and Independent T -Test with signiiic.mce leHI at 0,05 The result showed that asertif therapy influence to dynamic of emotional adjustment pasko after til~ diagnosis HI V ""sne..:iaily psychologically responses between group without ase.iii therapy. The, statistical test indicated significan level for crisis at p=O,OOO, isolation at p=O,002, anger at p=O,006, reconstruction at p=O,041, depression at p=O,002 and renewal at p=O,002. It is suggested to promote the application ofasertiftherapy to patient after the diagnosis HIV so that their increase psychological support and their quality oflife can be better."
