Abstract

"Elder who live in elder institution nowadays is served by caregivers who have nothing special skills especialy in nurse care. Nursing care is needed to help elder to complete the needs of daily activities. Purpose of this study was to clarify the corelation of officer's role with the fulfillment of elderly'S daily activities who live in Hargodedali elderly institution of Surabaya. This research used cross sectional design. The study population was elderly at Hargodedali elderly institution of Surabaya The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique, involving according to 27 respondents inclusion criteria. Analysis of data used a statistical test Spearmans rho test with significant level a:S 0.05. The results showed there were correlation betwen officer's role as conselor, educator, and coordinator with the fulfillment of elderly's daily activities. However there was a significant corelation betwen officer's role as facilitator with the fulfillment of elderly's daily activities. The conclusion of this research is that there were not correlation betwen officer's role as conselor, coordinator, educator (except facilitator) with the elderly's daily activities. Elderly institution is needed to increase the quantity of officer elderlies institution staffs who are professional nurse education so that the fulfillment of elderly's daily activities can be well preserved. Future studies could be done to analyse the performance of the officer to the fulfillment of elderly's daily activities."
