Abstract

"The patients who are treated at a mental hospital are generally conditioned only by a daily routines. Their motivation to do a certain activity or a certain piece ut work depends entirely the nurse, other wise they just. sit idly, eat and sleep. Realizing this condition, it is in need to give the patients a cenain activity therapy, so that the patient can do productive day for the useful of their improvement. This research undertakes pra-experimental method (Post test oniy non randomized control group design). The population conrists of the mental patients who are treated at Lawang ""dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat State Mental Hospital"", with the total sample 15 patients. By llsing purposive sampling (non probability sampling). Data colection is done by completing on observational form , with item modification o[ mental patien disability to bc completed by the stafT nurse. Data were then analyzed using t-Testwith level of signiticance of 0,05 . The result of the study consist of the patient's interest to the activity ( 15 ,2'J), willingness to do a certain activity (14,12), the patient's involvement in the activity (13), stillfulness (14,88), and their ability to perform an order (i 7,64 ). It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of th e activi ty group therapy to the increase of work motivation of the patient, at the Lawang "" <.ir. Racljiman Wecliocliningrat state Mental Hospital"", and the resull suppurts sume theories that already been quoted."
